Dr. Gary Chapman wrote an award-winning book, The 5 Love Languages, that teaches couples the different ways to give and receive love from one another. The 5 main love languages that he discovered are: words of affirmation, quality time, receiving or giving gifts, acts of service, and physical touch. Dr. Chapman's message is that relationships are strengthened when we learn how to love each other in the preferred love language.

We can apply these same love languages to our friendships and Ministering sisters. When we discover someone's love language, we can grow our relationships and serve our sisters in more meaningful ways.

The best way to find out someone's love languages is to.... ask them! Use the text image below and send it to your Ministering Sisters. Here's an example of what you could write in your text:

"I want to serve you in the best possible way! Everyone feels loved and appreciated differently. My love language is (fill in your love language)! What is your love language? There's no wrong answer and you can choose more than one!"

We've included a sheet of ideas of ways you can minister according to love languages. Use these ideas to help you get started in serving your sisters in the way they will appreciate the most! We've also included the image as an 8x8 to print if you'd like to put this up on your Relief Society bulletin board.
